I enjoyed following your tour while I was doing mine. Thanks for writing your journal!
And a big thanks for introducing me to the Salted Nut Roll!
I had to look back to see when you were in Crawford Bay. I would never expect bread to keep in a pannier longer than 2 days, never mind 2 weeks!
4 months agoCongratulations on completing the tour! And another fine journal of yours made it interesting to follow along.
4 months agoCongratulations on completing your route. We really enjoyed following your trip. You guys are so strong and determined! Enjoy the rest of your summer. I think we'll be mostly at home until the fall. It's not Tuscon hot, but Florida hot is enough to dissuade us from cycle touring in July and August.
4 months agoThank you, Gregory. It is a fine touring area, as you know!
4 months agoAnother fine tour in the books. I must compliment your route planning and your execution of said route.
4 months agoA great ride and and a fantastic journal. Congratulations to both of you!
4 months agoYour leftover secrets are safe with us. That was a huge day of riding. Congratulations! I think you're stronger than you realize.
4 months agoAnother great tour and a good read as always! You guys are amazing. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I agree that Tucson in July might be a tad hot.
4 months agoGreat journal, fun to follow along, thanks for sharing your ride!

4 months agoGreat ride again, Kelly and Jacinto! Thanks.
4 months agoI saw a windsock today on a narrow gravel road in front of a house, parallel to the highway. I wondered if that was as their own landing strip, but I don’t think it was wide enough? Maybe they just wanted to know which way the wind was blowing.
4 months agoThat was at the old trucks. I’m not sure if I should read the sign that they didn’t want photos taken of the trucks, or that they wouldn’t be taking camera shots, but gun shots instead.

I saw you left me a comment but for some reason it doesn't show up besides the email I got notifying me of your message. Anyway, Sudtirol has signed bike routes and that's what I followed. I have a Bikeline guidebook for all of Sudtirol that I used to get my routes. I mapped them out using RidewithGPS which has the routes noted in the OSM option. That's what I would suggest using. In Italy I didn't bail to the street anywhere. It wasn't needed. The bike path in northern Italy is quite good. Once you get out of Sudtirol it is less...nice. Past Trento was pretty meh in my opinion, but I also am very particular about the quality of the pavement. If I wanted to go slow all the time I wouldn't use a velomobile :) As for rentals, one of my colleagues near Augsburg has mentioned he *might* consider renting out a Buelk 4More. That's the entry level model. Little heavier, but still a real nice bike.
