Hey, thanks so much! This sounds like words of someone who knows of what he speaks. I never did buy into the giant termite theory, really.
4 years agoYes! What Patrick said. I've loved the blog & videos of a mostly warm tour on cold Colorado winter mornings.
But what I liked best was the low presence of automobiles in your photos, videos, and descriptions .. and the incredible beauty of almost everywhere that you rode!
This region will definitely be on our list of possibilities for an international tour.
Thanks for the excellent and entertaining documentation!
Very kind of her to compensate you for the receiving mishap.
Glad you ended up getting a couple nights there .. looks like a cool place!
A flue up the hillside to a chimney. This gave a better draught for the smelter and helped to condense out poisonous fumes, especially arsenic.
4 years agoCongratulations Scott and Rachel on another wonderful tour! Thanks for sharing your photos, video (Rachel) and your always entertaining and informative (and well-written) experiences. It may be wet and cold in Vancouver, but your daily journal added warmth and happiness to our days, as well as a burning pang in our stomachs to return to Europe next summer. You are both an inspiration. Enjoy your time off the bikes.

4 years agoIt’s really been an outstanding tour, and eye opening. After three months it will be nice to get back to our own culture for awhile, but we’re both going to miss it. Some of our best cycling ever.

Look forward to reading about Valencia!
OK, not so simple after all. I give up. We’re going back to America.
4 years agoUm, that would be 'un' preceding a singular masculine noun.
But pretty close! ¡Muy bien, Señor Anderson!
Sorry. You were warned though.
4 years agoYep! At least it's not 'flying rock'.
4 years agoAaaaagh! I might have nightmares.

I live in the north of England where such structures are fairly common on the hills in old lead mining areas. I have very much enjoyed following your journeys.
