It ranks high on my list too - really a special place. We stayed in the San Miguel both times, but its restaurant wasn’t open either time. Maybe we’re here too late in the season for smaller places like this to stay open. We did eat at the Nuria though, thought it was great, and wondered how its rooms would have been. Next time.
5 years agoTrujillo is quite possibly my favourite town in Europe. I stayed at Hostal Nuria on the Plaza Mayor in 2001, then in Hostal San Miguel in 2015 - both have restaurants, and both were really good. Oddly, in 2015 it was wet and cool the day I arrived.

We're so happy that you've given the little guy these incredible experiences!
We’re doing pretty well, alright. Our last registered adversity was locking our hotel in Toros, so we’re up to 16 AFD’s. Not bad!
Today was a near miss though, and I thought we were back to square one again.
Love seeing so many videos with low to no motor vehicles!

Through days of adversity, over hills, and against headwinds .. Team Anderson arrives in Elvas with miles of smiles.
May the days ahead be mostly AFDs.
Love the cork tree photos and this caption about the color.
I never knew anything about them until this journal.

5 years agoIt’s a jungle out here. Be glad you’re back there in safe old BC, where you only have to deal with bears, cougars and the like. We’ve got to watch out for Giant Earwigs!
5 years agoYikes, those look huge compared to what we have out here!
5 years agoI considered that. Actually wrestled with it for quite a while, but decided the rough scales looked more like Psammodromus than Podarcis... That said, I could be wrong, since I'm not an "eyes on" guy with these things, and must rely on photo image matching.
