The censors are uncertain about this post, Jen. Is schmesvio a profanity in some language we’re not familiar with?
5 years agoThose would be the younger, tougher Andersons you’re thinking of. We brought the older veterans along on this tour.
5 years agoYup. Don’t expect to slip one like this past us again in the future. We’ve got our eyes on you know.
5 years agoWhiners? Not a chance. Just go back and take a gander at your French Alps trip a few years back! You've paid your dues on the big cols of Europe!
5 years agoIt really is terrific, and keeps getting better. We’re already talking about coming back to southern Portugal sometime, maybe in the spring next time when the flowers are in bloom.
We didn’t ride any of the N2, which more or less splits the country down the middle north to south, but there’s no shortage of safe, quiet roads. The norm, I’d say.
That’s true!
5 years agoThis looks like a great tour so far.
Have you heard of the N2 road in Portugal? It goes from Chaves in the north to Faro on the southern coast. Apparently it's the longest road in the country and is very low traffic. I saw a post today on the Bicycle Touring and Bikepacking Facebook group and thought of you.
Mrs. Grumby and her long stream of profanities, bleeped again!
5 years agoCongrats on 2,000+ kilometers and so glad to hear Rachael feels better.
Here's to Happy Healthy Half Time in Lagos!
There you go, continent-hopping again.
5 years agoCan't wait to read more about Lagos and see more photos. If these smiles are any indication, I think you're in for a wonderful Half time break!
5 years agoI would like to title this photograph "Rachael vs. Komatsu".
Desvio, schmesvio! Glad it was Sunday so Team Anderson, lead by Fearless Rachael, could walk by that tractor and say, "Até logo, Senhor Komatsu!" "Adeus!"
Glad you got that "road" on video, Rachael. It really does make the dirt road look quite pleasant.
5 years agoDadgummit!? I think we’re going to have to start censoring or pre-screening some of this input. And blah? Goodness gracious!

There used to be a joke about La Quinta, the motel chain.
5 years agoQ: You know what La Quinta means?
A: Next to Denny's!
For some reason, there was very often a Denny's restaurant right next to La Quintas in Texas. So there you are.
