Nope. The stick’s work was done here, so I tossed it aside. I’m standing about 10 feet away, zoomed in.
4 years agoThat was an Idaho stop back there. It's all on video.
Is your GoPro a 7? The image stabilization is incredible.
That is surreal.
4 years agoGreat shot! Taken with (too-short) stick in one hand and camera in the other?
4 years agoToo hard! My list would probably differ from Rachael’s, and it would be more granular than country-level. Probably needs a whole conversation, maybe over a bottle of wine in Auckland some winter.
4 years agoI would love to see a ranking of your top 5 favourite cycling locations! Has Spain topped the list?
4 years agoThanks so much, Jen. Followers like yourself make it easy to keep up the effort.
4 years agoThat’s my thinking too. It took awhile to come around to it, but I really think Spain has the best cycling in Europe. I like it better every time we’re here.
4 years agoThat settles it . . . if I ever make it to Europe for a bike tour, the Iberian Peninsula is where I'll go. (Sorry France.)
4 years agoFrom one of the best spots on the tour. You two should take a long winter break and dash over here.
4 years agoStill catching up .. and just read the article about the greenhouses. Pretty creepy, especially with the image Bruce left of plastic disintegrating into the soil. And the work conditions!
Belated Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you both for the time and energy you put into the journal & videos. Always one of the highlights of my day!
Okay. This is the best shot of the tour in my opinion! You guys are rockin' it. Looking good!
4 years agoIt is! You should definitely check it out sometime but not during the hot time of year.
4 years agoYou should definitely do the climbing while you can! Since we’ve been taking longer tours I’ve been carrying a lot more stuff so touring in the Alps sounds less appealing unless it’s without bags. I’m getting lazy. I bet the Mathers would like this area but you would want to be here now or in the early spring otherwise it would be to hot!

GBE and a Fistful of Dollars are two of the best! Beautiful area.
4 years agoIf you get to Burgos, there is a town called Santo Domingi de Silos to the southeast. The cemetery scene in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly was filmed there and they've recently reconstructed the filming site. There's also a good documentary about it called Sad Hill Unearthed.
