I agree that they look like sheep, but I think they are the offspring of the big brown cows among them.

2 months agoMine tailings of some kind seems like a good guess. I think of mines always being in the mountains, other than 19th century hydraulic mining along rivers.
2 months agoInteresting. Being in Wyoming, my first thought was uranium mining - uranium mining has recently become a hot commodity. But uranium mining doesn't produce waste piles like this, so what is it? There is a No Water mine nearby, but I don't know what it produces.

2 months agoYes, I ate a couple of steaks in Wyoming. And I'm pretty sure the price was less than $49.
2 months agoA freezer full of free ice cream helped compensate for the high $160 price of the Days Inn.

2 months agoDid you eat any steaks in Wyoming? They should have been good? I had a ribeye at the much ballyhooed steakhouse in Babb, MT to celebrate completion of our snowy ride. It was a huge disappointment (too much gristle), especially at $49.
2 months agoAbout 35 years ago, I spent a night in Thermopolis after a backpacking trip in the Bighorn mountains. Back then, I think the Hot Springs Hotel was a Holiday Inn. I went in to try to get a room, but they were full for the night. We ended up at a small motel at the edge of town. I really liked that area around Thermopolis and the Bighorn Canyon.
2 months agoThere was a faint sulfur smell. Most of the park has a faint sulfur smell.

2 months agoGreat, but they all are. Looks like a fantastic spot as long as you stick with the pavement.

Maybe they are sheep. When I look at calf photos, they have the same coloring as the mother.
