Great words to live by.
3 years agoJacinto says it's been resurfaced since then, as it's nice now. I don't know which one of us took the better route. I got more bike path riding, but he got off of the main highway 3-4 miles faster.
3 years agoIt was even better because I was at the top of a ten mile climb! From there, it was 3,000 feet of downhill to Tucson. I'm sure you remember the long slog up to Sonoita. It is much more fun going this direction.
3 years agoAs I remember from driving that old Sonoita rd last year, that it is rough and heavily cracked. Right?

I absolutely LOVE this scene!

3 years agoWe both had good, if different, days. I wasn’t planning on big miles, being a winter tour. But we’ve had a couple of 50+ mile days. I’m thankful they have gone well.
3 years agoJacinto said only the last 1.5 miles was steep and he didn’t use all of his gears. He’s not a real good source of information. He’s too strong. I like mere mortal opinions!
3 years agoGreat pictures, looks like a beautiful ride!
3 years agoGood choice on doing more miles and less climbing.

Another Palmer's and the yucca might be soaptree yucca... Might, because it is a bit south of its range, however close enough that it could be. Other look-alikes do not have spikes on the leaves.

Yup, same.

High on my list too, but I really like those aerial bats along Rillito Wash.
