An excellent title! I did a double take yesterday, wondering why I didn’t catch the pun at first; but I see that you’ve renamed it.

Amanita muscaria , the fly agaric. Toxic in large doses, hallucinogenic in tiny amounts. Once used in fly traps around livestock.
Cheers,

Thanks Keith. Cycling is a great stress reducer.

Hi Steve and Dodie,
I am ever so saddened to hear of your daughter’s illness. And I hope that you can get some solace and relief from your tour, even if Joni is never far from your thoughts. Peace to you both.

Actually, traffic on Saltspring can be quite heavy, especially to or from the ferry terminals. I haven't read the next day's journal yet, but that hill heading south out of Ganges is awful because it's the only road connection between the north and south ends of the island. Yes, there is an alternate (quieter) route--but you have to go most of the way up the hill on the narrow, busy, shoulderless road to get to the turnoff.

Thanks Jacquie. We find that cycling has been a bit of a lifeline for us, helping restore balance in our lives.

Hi Steve and Dodie

Such sad news... As a parent, something so terrible happening to one of my kids is my greatest fear. I'm glad you can get out and ride away from it, if only temporarily.

It is really lovely, although quite hilly. We would not want to be doing this without the e assist.

The DaBrims are actually good in both sun and rain. Provides shade, but also sheds the water over your back instead of down your neck.

We don't call our region the "wet coast" for nothing.
