Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I’ll miss reading about your adventures.
5 years agoYou would be amazed to see how much downtown Portland has changed. And it is very bicycle friendly!
5 years agoSounds a great idea will just have to see what happens Canada really interests me and the only time we have visited it was when Ken went to a conference in Toronto
5 years agoActually Scott in the early 70s we lived in Portland (actually Beaverton) for about 18 months when Ken was working at St Vincent’s Hospital so we already know what a lovely state Oregon is so will have to give it some thought
5 years agoStart from here, and go to ???. The gulf islands and down the west coast to the Mexican border could be a fun idea. Organize it with us ahead of time and you could use our ebikes. Or just Dodie's if Ken wants to stay old school.
5 years agoYou should! Europe is so Old Country. There’s a lot to like here in the new world, even south of the border. Come to Oregon!
5 years agoCows!
5 years agoSounds like a wonderful rejuvenating week. Makes me think perhaps we should try Canada instead of Europe for our next trip when eventually I have my new legs
Take care

We’ll have to compare notes on Galiano when we meet again - one of our favorite stories is from there. Congratulations though on making it as far north as you did! The island is one damn hill after another.
5 years agoYup, your memory is fuzzy. It was actually a mushroom ID and gathering hike with Mom, followed by dyeing yarn with mushrooms you collected.
5 years agoDidn’t you (dad) and I go on a mushroom identification hike together when I was an early teen? I have a fuzzy memory of one...

5 years agoGlad you two are out enjoying the beauty of the islands - we don’t have to go far to find good cycling, do we?

Lovely. Ignore Dotie’s critiques - this is quite wall-worthy.
