Oh my goodness , Minecraft!!! Our almost 10 year old twin grands in Seattle are also into Minecraft and when they are allowed screen time it is rare to have any but a view of them on the game. Violet tried really hard to explain it to me and get me to play with her, but it seems imaginary worlds are above my skill set. Loving the pretrip journalling by the way....Dodie

Could be sooner than later, Suzanne. Trento, Bolzano, Brixen are all SO CLOSE to Munich. On those cushy ebikes you’d hardly even notice the mountains in between.

Sorry we won't meet up. Maybe another time another place.

Yup! My secret is out - I’ve always had a bit of a red streak. Sadly, Bavaria is no longer on this year’s plan so we won’t be passing near Munich this fall after all. We changed our starting point to Split when it sunk in that we could start earlier and lengthen our stay in Europe by beginning in Croatia.

The new digs look good, if only for a few days.
Mildewed windows - I know what you're talking about. Glad we aren't trying to sell our apartment. The north side gets hit the hardest here.

Dizzying plans! The socialist countries always had 5-year plans which of course they could not fulfill. Glad you only made a 3-year plan. It looks fantastic!

We seem to be interested in many of the same destinations, but I haven't thought much beyond my first retirement cycling trip in 2019. Maybe I'll be able to crimp more from your future journals... On the other hand, we might cross paths in the Canadian Rockies this summer.

All that is required for the Cycle Life Challenge is that you please Your Goddess.

You’re right, I did miss that; also the fact that e-bikers are welcome to participate. No Harley’s though - hogs are definitely out.

Nice that you made a little publicity here, Scott!
And for any newcmers, the rules are very flexible. No, the ride doesn't even have to be 7 miles, any distance will do. The main thing is that you get out on your bike, an early start into the season.

It does to us too. Thanks to you and Andrea for nudging us to look at Albania - it wouldn’t be on the itinerary this year otherwise.

I can’t believe we’re really taking this trip. We’ve sketched Meteora into and then out of our plans for several years now. Like you though, I’m especially anxious to see what Albania is like. It sounds like they’ve been emerging from the 19th century at warp speed over the last several years. It sounds like the perfect time to visit.

A daunting itinerary! What fantastic plans. I'm very curious to see how it is in Albania.
