Hi Mike,
It's a 2004 Yukon XL, which drives like a big red school bus. Brake rotors are not quit true, AC is wonky, compression is old, took three hours to scrub the prior owner's spilled food and drinks from the interior...but the price was great and it rolls. The adventure continues. :-)
What about a pic of the big red bus?
3 years agoWow! You know how to have an adventure and I love your descriptions of the scenery! Glad Steve is alright and hope you enjoy wherever this next stretch of your travels take you!
3 years agoLove reading about your trip. Sounds fantastic. A wide range of people on the trail.
3 years agoDave! Michele and I have been watching your GPS trucking along. I just watched Splash's YouTube post with you both in it! Looks like you're having such a great adventure meeting new people. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing where else this trip takes you!
3 years agoOh my! Day 1 did not lack excitement! Sending happy thoughts for smoother roads and trails ahead (with less dogs)!
3 years agoMake sure to stretch ( while you are in the passenger seat).
Double check the car ( everywhere) before your final return.
Start uploading your pix to FB.
Have a superb night sleep tonight.
This is the natural elimination process... I hope you two be able to complete the entire ride without any issues

You know that test your gear before you go thing? I rode a 50 mile day, went home and set up camp in the back yard.
3 years agoSeveral days later our neighbor stopped me in concern about the state of our marriage. He presumed that we had a spat and I had kicked Jacinto out of the house! I asked if he hadn't seen my bicycle parked next to the tent. Why yes, he had. That was me sleeping in the tent, trying out my gear. Even though our neighbor confirmed my bike was there and knew about my upcoming trip - he didn't seem convinced that I would be in our own yard, sleeping in a tent, when I could have been inside in a soft bed!
Tailwind to you!
Kelly
