Thank you for the info. I did meet Scott as you can now read in my updated blog.
I plan to be home in early December before the weather gets too hot.

2 years agoMy guess is trailing ice plant. Reasons I think it is not pig face is because it does not have larger triangular cross section leaves. Also, the blossoms in this picture have too small of a flower and the flower has too few petals to be pig face.
When I was a kid in Mojave, CA, we had both in our flower garden.

2 years agoThey could be but the pea pods were thin like snow peas, not plump like peas. I'm not sure?
