Hi Vince, great trip. Can you tell me how much water you maximum carried at a single day between Perth and your destination?
Iβm planning to cycle from Perth to Sydney more or less via your route.
Thanks Graham! I can't wait to hear about your trek to base camp!
See ya soon.
Hi Vince,
A belated congratulations on completing an extraordinary cycle tour and a very engaging journal. Hopefully weβll catch up at the local shops sometime soon.
Regards Graham
What an amazing adventure. I am in awe. Hope you enjoy time at home. Give Yoshi a pat.
1 year agoThank you for the kind words Kerrie.
It was great seeing you and the family too.
I'm slowly adjusting to having a life with a permanent address, not having to sleep on the ground, with mozzies, or sharing a bathroom with 100 other people.
I've been riding my bike a lot and enjoying gardening with Yoshi. It's good to be home.π²πΊππ₯°
I have to say Vince,I already loved you and was proud of you, but wow, so proud of you, and loved, loved reading and following youπ oh and your visit β€οΈ
2 years agoHi Kang,
Thank you. I doubt I could write a book. I've said almost everything in the blog.
Thanks for coming up and saying hi. Good luck with your adventures.
Cheers
Vince
Hi Dan,
Thank you for the info. I guess most people want diac brakes these days.
Cheers
Vince
Congratulations!! Big achievement, you should consider to write a book now :)
2 years agoFYI, Surly still makes a disc brake version of their classic Long Haul Trucker, it's called the Disc Trucker.
2 years agoThank you Kathleen,
You're very kind.
Canada seems very nice although I'm a bit scared of bears and moose.
I may be in touch in a year or so.
Cheers
Vince
I will miss your journey. I really enjoyed following along. What a fabulous achievement. If you do come to Canada please get in touch as we would love to meet you.
2 years agoThank you Cheryl,
Now that I'm home, I look forward to reading other people's blogs too. I didn't really have the time to do it while I was riding.
Cheers
Vince
Well done Vince! π
So glad that you made it home in one piece.
Really enjoyed your blog with its interesting comments and beautiful photographs.
Now who am I going to follow ? π€ π
Hi Leo,
7 months agoThe maximum water I carried was 16 ltrs. This was for 2 full day's riding. I used 3ltrs for washing. Plus more for cooking. The temperatures were mild so I didn't need to carry that much water.
I rode Perth to Sydney in 2013 and the temperatures were much hotter. It reached 46 degrees.
I am a cautious rider so I didn't want to run out of water. Many people do it with a lot less water. You can rely on caravaners to help you out if you get stuck. It is a busy road.
It is a beautiful remote ride and I would consider doing it for a third time. It is so peaceful and tranquil.
Please send me your link if you do a journal. All the best. Vince
