Sure, agree also ! So nice people, so friendly, so much respect. We can learn from them !
But the rubbish thing is really bad indeed.
Should it have to do with campaigns we have on television/radio about rubbish ?
They have not of course.
My parent teach me to through rubbish in a garbage bin. I think they don't teach their children this.
Also along the highway you found so much....
Enjoy your tour Frank, I really like to read your reports and see your pics !

...and into the sea. Once again I agree with your observations, Leo. As much as I love being here, this is one thing I do misprize! The unnecaessary use and disposal of plastic bags. They (Thai, Laotians, Cambodians, Vietnamese) buy their soup as takeaways and it comes in at least five plastic bags. How often have I seen those bags being thrown recklessly over to the side of the road....That counts for any sort of rubbish unfortunately. Makes me really angry! We are all living on this volatile planet....

It is sad to see how the people deal with rubbish in Asia. Everything they throw on the street.....

And it truly is coincidence, Jan. I do not a read a lot while I am cycling, in particular not when I have been along some stretch myself before. But I am somehow not surprised we came up with identical assessments...

What a coincidence!
I looked at my journal from 2016 and my comments on Laem Sing are almost identical to yours. New, colourful and upmarket resorts, hardly any guests on weekdays and I stayed in the same bungalow in Somboon Resort.

Hi Frank,
I agree with you, in Cambodia so much dust. It is normal if you should wear a dust mask during cycling. Everything is dust and the nature situation is indeed alarming.
What I really like about Cambodia are the people ! So positive, strong. They are not so submissive, they are proud. And that is what I really like. Always help you if you need and they don't accept money for their help.
The history is so sad and visiting Killing Fields and S-21 prison are things you will never forget your life.

Very difficult cycling, Leo. I am still furious with myself as I knew it was going to be like this and still went...

Andrew, believe me you wouldn´t believe it! This place looks like they are trying to copy Surfers Paradise within the next two years.

Sihanoukville was kind of crappy in the old days, but at least it was quiet and crappy...
