Thank you very much, Chris! Mind you, Coleen and you were an essential part of this undertaking
6 years agoDear Andrea, dear Bruce, I guess I am the one who has to say Thank You! Sticking with me all the way through those 5 months and at the same time supporting me with such an abundance of wealthy information has definitely helped making it the great experience it turned out to be
6 years agoWell, this was a great journal, Frankie, and we're going to miss our daily "Where is Frankie today?" dose. Thanks for taking us along with you.
6 years agoCongratulations Frank. What an epic trip. Two more sequels, later this year and another next year, with different bikes I heard. Do enjoy your R n R in NZ, though I bet lazing around won't be happening much 😊
6 years agoThank you so much Frank. Now what are Andrea and I going to do? We've been watching and waiting for your every post and devouring each one. What a great trip you've had. Thank you for teaching us new things and taking us to amazing places to meet nice people. We'll be waiting for your return to cycling in S.E. Asia.
6 years agoIt's ok. I don't really speak much other than absolute basics and it's always fine. Signs are usually in English, hotel staff speak a bit of English and restaurants often have plastic models or pictures of food. You'll be fine.
6 years agoI´d love to go, Andrew, but how about the language barrier? I heard several times this may be as much of an issue as in China
6 years agoFrank there is another country that hands out three month visas with ease and that's Japan. Well worth a visit if you haven't already been, and you'll probably use your tent as the hotels cost a bit more than 500 baht.
6 years agoWe were glad to have celebrated CNY with you guys. Would love to see your videos one day. Let us know when you are planning your next trip to Asia. Keep well. Hugs
6 years agoHi Coleen! That was a lot of fun celebrating Chinese New Year up in Northern Thailand (except for the steep hills). We have two videos from our trip, one about Vietnam and the other about Thailand and you and Chris make cameo appearances in the latter. Sadly, it is not online because of a copyrighted song so we’ll have to find some kind of workaround so you can see it. In any case, we hope to be wheels down in Thailand again before too terribly long. XoxoAndrea
6 years agoHi Andrea we always talk and think fondly of you & Bruce 😃Hope we get to cycle together again in Thailand.
6 years agoThe whole group returns you best wishes to Vienna, Jan. The food that caught your attention is not a Wiener Schnitzel but an omelette "Wiener Art"....
6 years agoYes Andrea and Bruce. Very fond memories of that trip reaching Ang Kang at 7.45 pm without any room reservations. Now we're dealing with a heatwave n headwinds.
6 years agoHey Bruce and Andrea,
Thanks for the kind words. We're having a sizzling time the past 4 days and I mean temps from 37 to 41 C. It takes so much energy out of us but we push on. Then there's the infernal headwinds. Ah well. The goal is Penang where good food awaits.
Frank,
6 years agoI don't feel as though Andrea and I helped you much. You have done these trips more than we have and you are always well prepared to deal with anything you run up against. I do know it's nice knowing a handful of friends are closely following you and will help in any way they can. I know that's a good feeling even if they are half a world away. Can't wait for your return to the road but have a great time in New Zealand in the meantime.
