Thanks for writing this up!
1 year agoI'm glad I stumbled on your journal here. I'm doing the GDMBR from Banff in June and have been debating the Flathead alternate versus the Fernie route.
1 year agoAt least I’ve got one tick on that side of the ledger now. Thankfully Kirsten doesn’t mind most of the epics I sometimes get us into, after a period of processing through selective memory of course 😎.
3 years agoHi Bill,
Enjoyed having you vicariously with us. Need to know a plant or animal …. Just ask and Bill answers 😀. Between you and our son Callum (a self confessed bird nerd and almost fully qualified chicken judge!) we’re in good hands.
Enjoyed following along!

Challenging!
3 years agoGreat to see you two out on the road again!
3 years agoYes, and necessity is the mother of invention. Two years later and I'm using the same repair technique. Couldn't think of anything better than the original roadside improvisation.

Hi Ron, we hope that our write up will be of some use to you. You mentioned that you are starting your ride from Banff in June. Looks like we will miss you as we are heading off to France and Spain in mid April and not returning until the end of June. If you push your trip back for whatever reason and find yourself starting in July we’d be happy to host you. We’ve had about ~50 WS guests who‘ve done the divide, either starting or finishing at our place in Canmore. Hope you have a great trip regardless.
