Thanks, Michael. It will only be a short leg though.
1 year agoOh dear- the gooseberry patch! Those thorns are painful. We tend to be conflicted in a similar fashion about moving side for cars. Sometimes doesn’t pay to be too empathetic. Enjoying your trip and looking forward to this UK section- that country always seems to offer an additional frisson of the unexpected. Bonne route, Michael Hutching
1 year agoI thought I was the only one that fell off bikes. Glad no major damage done. The small amount of cycling we have done in the UK I have found the cycling infrastructure terrible ghastly tracks given fancy names
1 year agoYou’ll just have to go back someday and see the painting. It’s lovely. There’s also a great cow painting, too, but I’ve forgotten the artist. Must look it up. I’ve never actually read the book. Maybe I should do that as well!
1 year agoYes, talk Bruce into another boat/bike tour. We will join you! Or a supported tour would do nicely, too!
1 year agoAnd …um…again!
1 year agoWell now…..that’s different! Planning for the same look in Waikawa? 🤔
1 year agoFrom Bruce's extensive research (that will be the headphones and YouTube) Utrecht is supposed to be right up there with Amsterdam and Copenhagen. I'm hoping it will be on a smaller scale!
1 year agoThe Goldfinch! We both enjoyed that book, as we did when we read the Secret History 30 years ago when it was the only book in English we could find in Paris at the end of a tour that we both wanted to read.
Looking forward to seeing Utrecht, which was in our plan two years go until we bailed on the Netherlands because we weren’t sure we could cross into Germany from there due to Covid.
Actually Robyn, what are the trunk bags that you are using and they obviously fit with the panniers? I've been thinking they would be a really good idea. In the past we've bungee strapped our locks to the carriers but it was always fiddly. Would be great to put them in a trunk bag along with other bits and pieces.
1 year agoWell I thought so!
1 year agoCongratulations on your Z! Love the rose fitting into the trunk bag. Definitely what it was made for!
1 year agoStunning for sure!
1 year agoCropping has a lot to do with it - and my expensive camera phone!

Oh dear Robyn! Glad you didn’t fall on your hand! Those brambles are painful and not keen to let you go once embedded! Glad you’re okay!
