Oh, I knew I left something important from this report. That was one of the reasons she cited for wanting more than the 39 mile ride I presented her with. For just a few hundred yards more she could ride her age in kilometers.

You are using amazingly beautiful photos to draw our attention away from the real subject, those suitcases.

Happy Birthday, Rachael. I'm still wondering, though, why you didn't ride your age on your birthday.

Well, you must have known that eventually your little nefarious business of shipping contraband in "empty" suitcases would catch up with you.

You can relax. Keith Adams beat you to it so the pressure’s off.

Gruissan in 10 days! We’ll need to start talking details.

You are so tempting me with the word "schist". It's a good thing it's late in the evening and my punning facilities are not functioning.

This is the look I aspire to in my retirement.

You have good taste. Cadaqués is one of our favorites! But we drive there. Just saying.... :)

That’s how I interpreted it, though there wasn’t any labeling as such. I should have grabbed their volume of Che Guevera’s biography to test out the theory.

Is that a Little Free Library on the door?

Not on this tour at least, but it’s in the back of our minds to make it back again in another Schengen stretcher. Maybe next year? We’ll have to see how this one goes.

Ha. Rachael saw this and almost talked herself out of this ride too. It’s not at all accurate in this regard sometimes, especially on twisty mountain roads. It seems to mismap slightly here and there and place the route just off the road up in the trees or down a cliff somewhere. In this instance, the actual maximum grade was no more than 8% in either direction. It also overstates the cumulative gain and loss as a result.

Not that we wouldn’t have been perfectly fine if it had been 17%, of course.

Any plans to also go into Scotland, we have a fantastic connection for you if you do, Peter McLaren and Glassmount.

How accurate would you say the RWGPS profile is? It shows quite a few places with slope in the teens, one over 17%. Looks like a great training ride with repeated intense efforts followed by brief rest. My legs hurt just looking at this.
