An amazing ride, fantastic photos. And the dolmen bonus - did you just stumble upon them?

Not a problem here. Once I got a few miles out of town I hardly saw a car all day.

Great scenes, great pics, in spite of terrible wind! We were driving along the west bank of Lake Garda and the wind was fierce. Many cyclists were out on the busy road because it was Saturday, but it looked downright dangerous.

It really has been an amazing run, alright. Each one of these feels like such a gift.

Mélanie has made my evening from thousands of miles away, just with that smile!

Ya know, you keep saying “best of the trip so far” and “top 5 of x ever” etc etc. It seems like you’re just having one more, ho hum, in a series of trips of a lifetime. Good on ya.

Well, kudos to internet image searches and comparing with a good photo... I am learning a lot, but at 76, I think I am forgetting more than I can remember.

Thanks for the nature photos!

Thanks, Bill. Yes, that’s it. We’ve seen this before in the last few years. I remembered that it began with the letter A, but that didn’t actually narrow things down very much.

Sounds like we’ll just miss each other then. We’re biking down the Ardeche and staying a couple of nights in Vaison as well, but we’ll be there about ten days from now.

We will start in Cahors and travel south to the Tarn. We'll follow the Tarn and Ardèche rivers heading east to the Rhone. We had planned to complete this ride previously but were thwarted by rainy weather. Fingers crossed this time. From the Rhone we will ride to Vaison-la-Romaine and then south to Toulon. From there - a ferry to Majorca. I am always excited about the next tour but this one should be really good!

That’s exactly right - just challenging enough to give us a sense of adventure and accomplishment. Plus, the cat!
