Looks like she's thumbing her nose at the wind?!
2 years agoHi Scott and Rachel
Thanks for the shout out on your blog today. Glad to see you very quickly decided to bail on your initial route. Enough of the dirt tracks. We are finding that out in Spain too. We have been pretty much been sticking to pavement to miss the bumpy, dusty and slow unpaved tracks. The small towns that we happen through have been super interesting and we are loving seeing so many kids playing outside and joining the families for supper in the restaurants. There seems to be much more activity outside in the evening than we saw in Portugal.
You say "gloomy", I say "atmospheric". Let's call the whole thing off.
2 years agoThanks! It was an incredible ride on a day with perfect weather! I hope you get the chance to do it sometime.
2 years agoI loved the video too. I’ve watched it four times already.
2 years agoI would rate it a couple notches above "almost".
Perhaps 'quite' creepy!
Love that video!! What an incredible ride and love the description of the group rounding a bend with a gasp of audible awe.
2 years agoSpectacular, indeed!
2 years agoI love love love that video, and the title you chose for the music! What a ride, it really hurts not to be able to do it. Cars almost non-existent. How perfect.
2 years agoYes, we’re definitely heading to the Vercors again, though not Chartreuse this time. The Vercors is such an amazing area. I just hope we’ll get the weather for it when we arrive.
2 years agoOh, drat! If I’d known someone was going to ask I would have tried one.
2 years agoWowza? Are you heading to the Gorges de la Bourne again? This photo also reminds me of the gorges in the Vercors and Chartreuse region. Beauty day! Stunning road!
2 years agoGorgeous!
2 years agoScott, once again an excellent routing choice for such a wonderful day. Pat and I rode the Nesque Gorge in May 2018. Also a great ride but the on last 10 KM to Sault it rained so hard that we were completely soaked when we arrived. Definitely have this on the list as a possible redo when we travel through this area again this year. Hope to have weather like you and Rachael enjoyed today.

Scott and Rachael,
2 years agoWe again love your photos and excellent commentary on this tour! You've rarely mentioned doing laundry (until today) but we've wondered whether you always use laundromats, or try to choose lodging with an available washing machine and dryer. Or, do you often hand wash in the sink or tub, and hope the clothes dry overnight? We've done mostly the latter, but that takes time, plus the roll-up-in-towels-and-stomp method of drying uses up the towels in the room pretty quickly. Whatever you are doing, it seems very efficient, given the time you also put into journaling, as well as the time spent finding restaurants and eating out.
