We stayed there, too.

Pay to see a waterfall!?!? And all the advertisement. Hmfff.

Yes, that’s the plan. And there’s even the possibility that we could get decent weather through the weekend, which could just about see us down to Udine.

Such an honor! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a Gibson haiku in these pages.

I’ve really been surprised by how rewarding it has been through here. Like most places, we really traveled through too fast last time. I’m sure that it would be a fantastic hiking and backpacking area too, but overnights are beyond me know. It’s enough to ask my knees to carry my sorry carcass without throwing a pack on top of the load.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bob. We loved Cremona when we passed through for one night three years ago, and expect we’ll stay there longer this time. We’ll check this out.

If Cremona is more than an overnight stop, I would recommend getting tickets for the noon concert at the Museo Del Violino. Solo violinist performing on a violin from their collection. It's one of the more memorable moments in a trip full of them from a couple of years ago. https://www.museodelviolino.org/en/evento/il-suono-stradivari/

I've been to the Finger Lakes region, but not with a bike. Also a very nice area. And yes, the climb is avoidable on the Attersee. I ended up riding from the Mondsee up to the south end of the Attersee. I wanted to see it, but the weather was too rainy to warrant riding up the whole west side and there's not as good of cycle infrastructure around that lake either.

Yes, I thought I should place our order in advance.

Hi Scott - looks like you're having fun! I tried your Journal fix but my tablet doesn't show me any "handles" to move this entry when I select change order. Perhaps I'm doing this the wrong way.....

Awesome!!

Though immensely complex in his thinking, his perceptions are almost entirely linked to the visual.

His very small ears probably didn't cue him in on any prior Austrian experience. Especially since they were covered by layers of pannier innards.
