Another lizard! Nice it sat still long enough to snap a shot. Great picture!

I have seen European wall lizards in Cincinnati, OH, only about an hour's drive (a day's bike ride) south of us in Dayton. Here is a link to an article on them.

I really enjoyed watching this trio, who I believe were siblings. They interacted so well together and seemed so carefree. The girl in particular was charming, as she alternately found skipping candidates for her brothers and tossed small pebbles to the seagulls to tempt them to snap them up.

I think the issue with the video is likely to be slow internet. I can’t test it because I have slow internet.

Hi, Bennie. Thanks for the kind feedback! Nice to know you’re following along and getting something out of this. It really is a great site, isn’t it?

You take such nice photos, Scott. It takes a skilled eye to capture simple gestures, in humans and animals, that we can all relate to. You make it look easy but I know it is not.

Fortunately I had just finished my coffee when I read this, sparing my keyboard.

Oh, good. I half expected someone to tell me it wasn’t even a fir. Pretty good first cut, huh?

What a lovely vision! You should test it out for your Halloween contest this year. Send pics!

I think he was probably right on all counts. It's a very nice photo.

Makes me wonder what size my feet would be if they were similarly proportioned to my body? And would that allow me to walk over mud flats?

Perhaps an Abies nordmanniana (Nordmann fir) but most likely an Abies alba, Silver fir.

Actually I would say Marca Depositata just means trademark. That would be similar to the French marque deposee. Beautiful headset!

I’m getting ideas myself. I’d be pretty content to spend a whole season in just this region.
