Hi Scott,
Nice ribbon on the chateau in Narbonne. Last time I was there there was a small musical group playing Charles Trenet songs just in front of it. The building is the old palais of the archbishop. The Cathedral is behind it about a block away.
Cheers,
Keith
Nope. When you’re as old as I am, every ounce matters!

Now that’s funny; and reminds me of a worse time in Spain long ago, when I found myself staring at two complete bottles of wine. Mon du!
6 years agoOh, I missed that. Thank the spell checker for it, I actually know better. In my defense, that’s the part of the statement she understood.
6 years agoOf course, there was the time in Germany I tried to order a 200 ml glass of wine (instead of the other option, 100 ml), and ended up with two of them. At least it was with dinner.
6 years agoDeux, not du! Different pronunciations, I think, but I'll leave that comment so someone whose French is better than mine.
6 years agoMerci! I knew there was a better way, after experiencing two defeats.

6 years agoScott,
More French lesson: Just say "Nous sommes deux." You'll sound like a Frenchman and avoid the word that is easy to confuse. On the other hand there is nothing wrong with "deux pressions," maybe it is a mistake that you make subconsciously on purpose.

Yes! That’s just what I thought.
6 years agoFunny that it’s in English....
6 years agoThat’s correct, it’s a painting. I came across a few other buildings like this in the neighborhood this morning. However, it looks to me like the intent is the same, and I’m assuming they mask real windows because some are exposed and appear to be lived-in units. Not positive though.
I am positive though that it’s not a real cat.
Are you sure it is a window and not a trompe d,oeuil wall painting?

Hi again,
5 years agoA pic from one of France's favorite movies, les Tontons Flinguers ( Pistol Packing Uncles). Jean Gabin was the capo in the movie.
Cheers,
Keith
