Heh-heh... I can't tell the species, but I'd lay money on it being invasive! :-)
5 years agoYup, I think. My French is pretty poor, but that’s my reading of 2 Chambres. Only one WC though, so that’s a concern.
5 years agoHi Scott and Rachel,
Much too rarely do I look at your journal. Perhaps better so, because each time I do I am ready to get on my bicycle and take off. And reading your journal also alleviates any fear that such a life cannot just go on "forever". That place in Ceret tough does look enticing!
Last spring you recommended Crete. Instead we went to the Cevennes, and now to Morocco. In spring it will be Bretagne. The good side is that this leaves Crete still for a future trip!
Enjoy your travels and best wishes for the holidays!

Will there be a guest room? Asking for a pal.
5 years agoScott, Happy birthday! You are catching up, now I am only nine years older than you. That will soon change. In the meantime thanks for letting me celebrate our mutual good fortune with you through your journal.
5 years agoI assumed so too - we saw the massive granite stones for the olive crush earlier in the tour. I just liked the idea of pointing out the absence of wine trees nearby.
5 years agoHi,
Oh how I wish you had taken a video of that incident. Not at all funny at the time, I know, but the Laurel and Hardy aspect of the scene would be great fun in hindsight. Great story complete with slapstick and salaciousness.
Cheers,
Keith
Hi,
Wine press. When you get to Spain DO go to an oliera (sp.?) You'll see the real thing in olive presses and more importantly TASTE the oil where it was made. One of nature's most perfect foods!
Cheers,
Keith
Well at least you hadn't lost your wallet. That time.
5 years agoThanks, Suzanne. Córdoba! I love Córdoba. I almost lost Rachael there though, when I forgot my wallet at the hotel and we couldn’t pay for our evening meal. I ran off in the dark, leaving Rachael at the restaurant as collateral, but soon realized I couldn’t find the hotel and didn’t remember its name. I finally stumbled on it, and then realized I couldn’t find my way back to the restaurant and didn’t know its name either. Awesome white gazpacho though!
5 years agoGreat story! You were luckier than our friends, also touring on the French Mediterranean, who returned from their swim to find their bikes and complete touring gear gone!
5 years agoHappy Birthday! What a great trip and so much to celebrate 🎉! Blue skies for the final days of your trip as well. Perfect. Best wishes from Janos and me, now in Córdoba.
5 years agoI’m really enjoying these videos too. She’s really gotten better at them over the last year. They make a really nice recap to the day.
5 years agoAnd, the 111th entry in the journal!

It's a Bengal cat, a spendy breed here in the states.
