Your large calves aren't half as impressive as your Swainson's Thrush fueled spirit ..

which has the strength to meet any hill or fly or loose gravel or ...

come what may!

I agree with both Greg and Bruce here.

There are some obvious thought bubbles in this group:
"That cyclist's calves are so huge, he must have all the sandwiches he needs in them-thar bike bags."

and

"We are not worthy of such handsomeness! Someone more handsomer than George Clooney would find our sandwiches laughable. So let's just not embarrass ourselves, m'kay."

Glad to see another post! I’m glad you found companions for the ride.

No matter how tired, dirty or pathetic you look people would still be stunned by a guy better looking than George Clooney. They would be so stunned they wouldn't think to give you a sandwich.

"They tell me you're a man with true grit." -Mattie, speaking to Rooster Cogburn. Also, ME thinking of your bike tour.

Yes, they found a prime picnic site, but there's not a large calf in the bunch. It's obvious they were too jealous to offer you a sandwich.

Ron - please forgive me, I was just being silly about Greg - EVERYBODY knows who the famous Greg Garceau is, and I enjoyed his ride around the world tremendously. I was bitterly disappointed to discover that he wasn't really riding 1,000 miles per day, but he's still a heroic character. I tour on paved roads mostly and find it to sometimes be very challenging and at the max of my ability- but it's small potatoes compared to the route you are riding. Best of luck with the remainder, I'll be following along.

There were a few Abby-Normal moments. Yeah, I was camped alone a few times. It was fine, always a little tinge of concern in bear country, but don't forget The Captain and Tenille.

I should try to figure out how to wiz, ride and film at the same time. That's what the racers do.
