So weird, it looks like a nice shop. But I am curious - in deciding not to have a bike pump (ok, and patches and levers) are you not risking a long walk on some forlorn road or path with a flat? Admittedly, unlike in gritty North America we have had no flats with our bikes in Germany/Austria/Czech in recent years!

5 years agoMud on day 1! Hope the Gasthaus had enough hot water to let you all get cleaned up. And aren’t you glad you’re not camping?
5 years agoGlad you're all there now. Hope the weather gets better for you. I don't think you can get lost as the route follows the river, at least from Passau to Vienna. I did it with Swiss relatives in 2006.....I kept stopping to take photos but they didn't. I wonder why!! Have fun.
5 years agoGlad you arrived safely and with the bikes intact. Have fun - and wow, that is some beer!
5 years agoFair skies and steady tailwinds to you all. Hope your hands survive doing that much laundry in sinks, bidets, and bathtubs.
5 years agoTwo panniers which I am taking as carryons plus a handle bar bag and trunk that are in the bike box with my bike. I have my fingers crossed that the bike survives the trip only in a card board box.
