My logical side knows this; my worrisome side wonders.

Yes, Canadian I am! Purolator is a courier company and there are bags/envelopes from them which are a very durable yet light plastic. Tools tend not to poke through and when I use one to cover my Brooks saddle during rain it does not rip. I use up the wrap before leaving then buy a new roll at my departure point from a supermarket.

First world person, first world worries. But still, don't worry, be happy. It will all be OK in the end, because it always is.

Milk bags? You must be from the Great White North. What's a Purolator bag? Purolator makes filters for engines. Do you take a roll of Saran Wrap or just a piece and wad it up? Folding is a Sisyphean task.

Just got around to reading this. In 2022, we had the host of a B&B I’d booked contact us through Booking and ask us to cancel our reservation. The email as sent by Booking stated that, if I did nothing, our reservation would stand.

Then, when we arrived on a Saturday evening, the place was closed. When I finally reached the host, she said she was “at the hospital”. I thought, okay, was she called in to work or did she have to take someone to Emergency? But no, she’d had an operation. Now I know why *we* were requested to cancel.

Try calling booking dot com and asking them about the cancellation and what you can do about it. Hopefully they will have a suggestion.

No, I did not know this. Maybe why the guy got snarky when I questioned him!

You might have it right with the cancellation problem on Booking dot com. Are you aware that booking seems to make the place that cancels take responsibility for finding a similar alternative accommodation, and if they cannot/will not booking will cover a price difference of about 25 euros? We had this happen 3 times so far this trip, and each time the final resolution was satisfactory and in our favour, price wise.
