Glad to hear you are sheltering.
We're hunkering down in a nice B&B in Coonabarabran. Rain should stop around midnight so we're heading into the Warrumbungles NP tomorrow.
Greg the forecasts were accurate. It’s been raining for hours with wild winds. So no riding today. Rest and maintenance day after three solid days of riding through hilly high country.
8 months agoNice to see you've made it out of the city and into the rural country. The photos of the bridge, the Abercrombie River, and the eye-catching tree are exactly what I envision when I think about Australia.
Torrential rains are NOT what I envision about Australia. I wish you good luck with that situation.
Thanks Jean-Marc. I’ll check the warnings. We seem ok for tomorrow but Friday isn’t looking the best.
And yes … we might cross paths again. Today we made good progress. Hard but fun day.
Good to see you are on the road. Still hoping we will cross paths again between now and Brisbane.
You are aware of the weather warning that has been issued for Thursday and Friday in NSW?
I love those yellow Ortleibs....
8 months agoHi Mike this is the original 2009 set up except for the wheels. I put a lighter wheel set on a few years ago.
8 months agoWould your bike originally had a square taper crank set?
8 months agoRich it’s a light, and very strong lock. Nicely designed and manufactured.
It’s also relatively expensive, especially for us over here with a weak currency exchange, but I think it’s worth the insurance of having the bike very secure on the few occasions where there’s no better alternative to having it locked outside.
I liked the look of that lock so much that I checked it out. Nice and lightweight! So I bought one. It will be a major upgrade to our current solution. Thanks for posting this!
8 months agoThanks for tip Bill.
New one to me, and I will pack some cotton wool. The extra weight will be worth it. :)
No cotton wad to swish around inside the tire after a flat to find the offending item without blood sacrifice?
8 months agoAndrea that reminds of that saying, “My mind feels like 25; My body says my mind is an idiot.”
