It is amazing how digital photography has turned many of us into photo sluts, not thinking twice about taking hundreds of shots in a single day
1 year agoLooks like the word at the bottom is "story". Ask her to tilt the cover up a bit and turn it toward you- that'll make the top word(s) much easier to read, and the cover art clearer. Looks like a woman and a dog, with the full moon or perhaps the sun in the background?
1 year agoYou’re right! It’s so crisp and cleanly cut. That’s a neat observation.
1 year agoIt looks almost like a model in an HO train layout, in the photo. It wouldn't be displeasing to see a locomotive towing a string of boxcars somewhere in the background, perhaps with a gated crossing holding back a few scale cars and trucks.
1 year agoWe blasted through Vaison-la-Romaine on a lunch stop and saw just a sliver of what's there. I hope to get another shot at it. I'm enjoying your memories of this trip.
1 year ago"And I will build my church upon the Rock..." takes on a new level of significance in this context, doesn't it?
1 year agoI took a self-guided tour in early July, 2012 that passed through the same region of Provence. The Valensole Plateau in full lavender bloom is definitely worth it!
1 year agoAt last! My chance to "Like" the album's cover photo...
1 year agoHow unlucky to get caught in this heatwave on your first tandem tour! I hope to never encounter heat like that again! That’s why now, we try to go places in the right season.
1 year agoIt is forbidding, alright. This is the shot that most resembles the one in my travel guide, and that seduced me into coming this way. I just had to see for myself.
We’ve biked the gorge three times now. It’s been amazing each time, but the one in 2015 along the north rim was the best. One dizzying overlook after another.
Yes. It is an astonishing spot, as it is nearly everywhere along this gorge.
1 year agoThat's an incredible and forbidding scarp. Even sitting here in my home office in Maryland I'm vaguely nervous about being so close to the edge...
1 year agoDid it live up to its oh-so-promising name?
1 year agoWhat buried treasure you have here.
Your scrap of memory about calling the hotel sends me down a familiar path. Now and then while reading over an entry I'll replay my poor attempt at French and indulge in a mental do-over.
Looking forward to what else you dig up from your romantic trip.
Photo sluts! What a term!
