Wow. That sounded like an intense day. The fall colors are beautiful. It’s starting to cool down in NV. High was 97 today. Looking forward to you next leg of the trip.

Sorry it took this long to reply-this is my first CB journal and still figuring it out. Coming from a state with a mask mandate and a town with good compliance, I am shocked at how blasé most everyone here is-like there is no pandemic. It’s pretty clear why hospitals are full of Covid patients though. And traveling feels more risky than I expected it to. Thanks for reading the journal.

Last night's news said that all of Colorado is in the red for COVID and that Boulder has enacted a mask mandate again and that Pitkin County (Aspen) is considering it.

Governor Polis (D) got so much flak for his COVID protocols (maybe he and Newsom could commiserate), that I think things would have to be much, much worse before anything comes down from the state level.

I am surprised that you didn't see more masks around Glenwood - I haven't been in Glenwood proper, except hiking, for months. I had expected the tourist town would be more cautious.

I’m glad you’re including observations about the pandemic in your posts. In a few years this should be mostly behind us (I hope), and rereading this journal later will bring back a lot of forgotten details about how we and others lived through this pandemic.
