Ah! Thanks, Bill! They sure are pretty against the green green grasses!
5 years agoThis time, you hit the jackpot! It is a native species. Widespread and is about finished for the season here in southwest Ohio.

Oh! It was SO wet and cold!!! Thankfully we have finally outrun the cold - the rain still shows up periodically, but not for long! How are your plans progressing?
5 years agoOh oh, those look suspiciously like down type jackets. Need to break out the Goretex!

Thanks, Rachel. We are itching to get back out on the road. Our first biking stop will be up in Banff/Jasper and I plan on rereading that portion of your Swanson for the Jetta tour for ideas! As for the rest, there are so many choices out there, we could do this for a long time I'm sure!
5 years agoI agree with you about riding across the US and Canada. Sounds like a good plan. I look forward to seeing how it goes and about the different places you are going.
5 years agoYep, that's the general idea! So many interesting rides but such a big area! It will be interesting to do this and then head over to Europe and compare the experiences.
5 years agoYikes, that is at least a 12,000 km itinerary! It's clever, and necessary, to use the Caravan. North America, unlike Europe, lacks long distance cycle routes, so it figures you have to travel to cherry pick the good, but shortish, ones that are available.
