I really enjoyed following along. Your ability to portray in words is both entertaining and informative. Your photos were very nice! Thanks for all the efforts. At age 78 with failing joints, I will never get to actually do it myself, so this helps scratch my itch.

9 months agoOh. I just noticed your statement that you don’t know how to reply to a comment. It’s easy, but you don’t do it through the email - you do it through the comment. If you go to the spot where the comment was made and open up the comment to read it, you’ll see that there’s the option ‘Reply to this comment’.
9 months agoI second Mike Ayling. As a woman with smaller hands than the average male (for whom essentially all cycling stuff is designed), I always need to adjust the position of the brake levers so I can reach them from the hoods and from the drops. Sometimes it proves impossible and I need to replace the handlebars.
I was laughing to myself when you mentioned in yesterday's post that you still had "about an inch of play" between the brake lever and the handlebar. When you have small hands, that's often where the brake levers are set up so you can just reach them.
You might consider getting a bike fit when you get home together you closer to your brake levels.
9 months agoWow, 45 miles in really bad road! The landscape looks amazing but I couldn’t take all the bad road. We’ve done some really bad roads in the past but now we avoid them if at all possible. Be careful!
