Such a wonderful book. It was recommended to me by a friend at work long ago. He was an English teacher turned programmer, and said Blackbird’s Summer was one of his favorite works of literature. I should load it onto the kindle and reread it on one of these rainy days.
I have misspellings in my comments all the time, FYI. I just dele them and repost them corrected.
Sorry Merwin not Mersin. Fat fingers or diabolical spell checker:)
3 years agoWhat a great ride. You were biking studs to do all those km! It will take us the next 5-10 tours to cover that much ground. Great ideas in this journal for other folks planning rides in this part of France.
3 years agoI can’t believe you referenced that W.S. Mersin book! It’s one of my all time favorite books and I thought I was the only person who had ever read it!
3 years agoThanks, Susan. We can hardly wait to go back ourselves, it not this year I don’t think.
3 years agoHey Scott,
I love biking in France and am really enjoying this journal. It rekindles fond memories of places I've visited and added to the long list of those yet to come. Thanks.
I think we’re going to have to return here ourselves. I haven’t really thought about this tour - at least not the Atlantic half of the loop - for a long time, and had forgotten how much there was to like about it.
3 years agoI have a picture of myself on one of my tours sitting here and having a picnic! Great memories...

Thanks, Rich. France is so amazing, isn’t it? So many spots here I’d love to see again,
