Yes, I’m planning to take the train north from Hualien for about 100 km. It’s still not recommended to bike that stretch. The railway website seems pretty good - it clearly shows which train stations and trains allow bikes.
3 weeks agoExciting! Good luck with the weather on the east side. Are you going to take the train for the stretch of Highway 9 north of Hualien between Luodong and Xincheng? Unless something has changed, I wouldn’t want to bike through the series of tunnels on that part of the coast.
