Uh, oh is right - and oh so wrong to come down with something in the final days of a spectacular tour. Or anytime, for that matter. I certainly hope that this delayed posting is an indication that you’re feeling a bit better.
1 year agoCan't wait!
1 year agoWhat a boaring hike!
Well, I guess someone had to make that pun.
Yes he did! I’m used to passing bikes, scooters, skateboarders and roller skaters and glad I’m not on a road with cars and trucks! Nice and surrounding have great safe cycling ath.
1 year agoScott is packing the bikes now! How wonderful of you to ship the suitcases to us. We are forever in your debt! We look forward to seeing both of you again!
1 year agoWhat a great idea! I was so stunned by the great views and glad I didn’t have to go back down the very, very steep climb I just did, it didn’t even cross my mind.
1 year agoYou’re right about that! I’m so glad I had my Garmin so I could re-route.
1 year agoWild boars, hunting men and dogs, and mountain bikers! Not a recipe for a relaxing hike - glad you returned safely.
1 year agoThanks, you made my day!
1 year agoI like pigs of all kinds. Javalinas are one of the coolest things in the deserts of the southwest. Pink pigs are one of the coolest Iowa farm animals. But I've heard those wild boars destroy everything in their path.
Thanks, Rocky, for your videos and hiking reports. You deserve just as much credit for this journal as that other guy who does most of the writing and photography.
Me, too!
1 year agoWhew! Glad you didn't encounter any shooting or running male boars!
1 year agoWe were surprised, 20 years or so ago, to see boar included on a wildlife crossing sign in France. I suppose, though, that especially up in the mountains where there's less human development and correspondingly more habitat, it makes sense that they'd survive and flourish.
1 year agoWere you tempted to increase the elevation by adding a couple more stones to the top of the pile? :)

Yup. Timing could have been better, but I’m definitely on the mend. A shame that I shared it in the meantime though.
