Very impressive Timor Leg Ian. Good to see you having a well earned catching up with old (and new) friends. Superb work they are doing.
Regarding the mobile phone....well done getting it sorted. I know you love them...and the cloud. The best wishes for your next leg.

Graham You're dead right. I'll get rolling tomorrow and things will be good. Actually, they're good now. I just did a terrific tour with Belizia, a JDN member, of Women of TL - random buildings where women were tortured. Belizia is a champion!

Ian look on the bright side.

An expedition blog needs drama and some suffering. Preferably minor suffering; nothing life-threatening nor limb shattering.

Like The Romans understood that the public relished the tribulations of gladiators in the colosseum, dedicated readers of CycleBlaze are hanging out to see how expeditioners such as yourself triumph over adversity, such as convincing a new mobile phone to work.

Onwards and upwards.

So sorry to hear of your dramas with your phone. Here's hoping you can get the info restored, still enjoying the blog.

Hi Ian, Ok I’m queued up and intrigued about tomorrow’s episode. Perhaps you could start Tuesday extra extra early so you can post extra early for the waiting fans.

BTW today’s post rates as a Great Read. Very interesting.

Dream on! The cover is made of unreinforced concrete. It's about 600 mm down to liquid that one might politely call grey water. Keep in mind that there's no street lights.

Great in so many other ways, Gough had a few blind spots. One of them was small countries. He didn’t believe small, especially tiny countries, could be viable sovereign entities in today’s world of increasingly big alliances.

His other blind spot was the Torres Strait. He very nearly gave half of the Torres Strait Islands to PNG. Just draw the border mid-way in the strait said Gough.

Their unlikely saviour was Joh. He refused to let any of TSI be ruled by PNG because Torres Strait Islanders were Queenslanders.
