John Saxby commented on Day 105 - a lazy day in Bogor with a Christo-inspired cathedral

Hi Ian,

Following up on a notice on the Thorn Forum by Graham Smith, about your bottom bracket problem-in-the-making.
Did a quick search for sources of 73 mm Square taper BBs of different spindle lengths. Following sources offer them. The First two are in Montréal, (QC) Canada, the 3rd in Des Moines, Iowa, in the US. I expect you could get one shipped to you fairly quickly. They all offer a range of spindle lengths. (I use a 118 mm spindle on my Mercury Mk 3, same as I had on my Raven. Both bikes use a Spa Cycles crankset, with a chainline of 43 mm with a 107 mm spindle. To get the 54 mm Rohloff recommends, I added 11 mm to the spindle length, giving me 118.)

Here are the three bike shops:

Hope this helps, good luck, John Saxby, Ottawa, Canada

It was built by the Dutch

Sometimes they are easy... But not usually. This was easy.

Well done, Bill

Giant golden orb weaver. Everywhere in the tropics. Lots of them at my brother's in Hawaii. Correct about the tiny male.

Nesting is well underway and our locals have taken almost all the coconut fibre mulch from our pot plants.

Ian I messaged you that photo. It’s from a 1:600,000 International Travel Map printed in Canada.
I knew Daisy’s village was somewhere near Bogor, but don’t know the exact location.

I’m delighted that two of my most adventurous, well travelled and scientifically knowledgeable friends are able to meet.

Your total combined qualifications, and real world experience in nutrition science, and in ecology, would be among the best in the world.

Graham, that's right but wouldn't it make a fine ad!

Ian international travel, especially across somewhere as exotic as The Spice Islands, often conveys an image of glamour, luxury and mystique.
That jug, nor the ceiling mould, aren’t quite fitting in with the classic Club Med advertisement imagery.

Bill, I thought that I would catch you. Thanks for trying. I'm not seeing live snakes. Most dead ones are part of the tarmac.

Diurnal with round pupil. Large eye and long thin body climbing. Spent too much time trying to pin it down. So many species down there!

Ian, enjoyed your comments. I have been doing exactly that. The load is fine but it's the effort in the conditions that's hard.

Ian, that's a comment that might get my friend, John, involved. He knows about cheese. He's a cyclist too - he rode my Thorn to Hall one day on a Friday ride. Perhaps you were there.
