Looks like it might be a Cassin's finch.

Nice! They continue to elude me with their flighty ways.
4 years agoNever saw, and never heard of. And if these scary talons typify the film, I don’t think I will now either.

The chicken has large talons!
(I don't suppose you ever saw Napoleon Dynamite?)
Great shot!

4 years agoYou do know that chickens are not the brightest of birds, right?

On the other hand, it's not a Pratt truss (with all diagonal members slanting down towards the centre) but it is a through truss.
When you said "outhouse" I immediately thought of the kind you find in the backcountry (if you find one at all) and was thinking it would have to be raining pretty hard to want to shelter in one. This looks almost palatial in comparison.
4 years agoThe GAS Line! How perfect! Say, could you have the depot set up as a tiny house, so Team Anderson could stay there when they’re in town? Maybe it could include a few blown up photos from Greece or Iberia so we’ll feel right at home.
4 years agoI like the way you think. I'm gonna propose the Grumby-Anderson Shortline, abbreviated GAS, at the next HOA meeting.

I've been reluctant all my life, but your bird pictures today just might have convinced me that I should get an actual camera that can zoom in on wildlife.
