Be glad you were driving in the rain and not riding! I was, because the 30% chance of showers was forecast to end in the morning. It didn't. And, as you no doubt noticed, because Bellingham isn't all that far from here, it's cold today.

Fair point, but the Awards Committee has moved on to other important matters, starting with finding a beer. If you can provide the missing documentation though, there is always the possibility that it will be considered. Good luck!

We demand a recount. Or at least independent verification. Without a current weather report from Hell there is no proof that it is not frozen over!

Good point, that I should have picked upon from Bill. Those definitely look more like thorns than fine prickles.

A good point. I feel bad.

Sometimes a little stretch of gravel is worth the destination! Looks like a great ride.

Not salmonberries, imo. We have lots of salmonberries here in the Vancouver area and they don't have thorns. I've seen the type of berries in the photo but I can't identify them from the photo. Possibly unripe blackberries...

It was a great ride.

Just for the record....Once a person leaves their front door they are fair game to have their photo taken and there is nothing they can do about that if the photo is not published. Of course, at the time you cannot tell the person this unless you want them to get even angrier.

He must have not wanted his photo taken.

That forest on the right is full of acorn woodpeckers, or used to be.

It is eerie, isn’t it? You can even see through his nares. Thanks for the vote, good enough for me.

Eerily perched there, a dark silhouette just looking for something to vult?

Well, it is not quite on the wire, but it is a bird, and there is a wire, and with the right perspective it "could" be made to appear as though it might be on the wire. so I'd vote yes.

Yes, I heard that version in looking for this one. I started listening to him in the late sixties, and owned the album this came out on. This is the sound I always associate with him.

I went to one of his concerts in Vancouver. It must have been between 27 and 32 years ago because I went with Al before kids. He sounds so very young in the version you've linked. This one is quite different https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGvwvxA83Cs
