I approve of having the next tour sorted as soon as possible. Happy planning!
3 months agoYay!!! Looking forward to your next adventure already! Its always good to have the next trip plans started:)
I was cycling there recently, in some of the places you mention. Sooo good.
So glad that your last tour was so successful that it has inspired you to embark on a new European tour! Looking forward to your journal!
3 months agoGood to hear that you’re doing well and have plans already in place for next year.
[spooky voice] Keeennnnn commme ooooverrrr tooo the darrrrk siiiiide geeeet an eeeeeeebiiikke.
Well done Trish and Ken - the e-bike, will I , won’t I, conundrum is a tricky one that’s given rise to much discussion in my family. To each, his or her own. Certainly in Bavaria recently we saw many 80+ locals out on their electrics given an extra lease of cycling life. All the best , Michael & Ann
3 months agoYou two are an inspiration! Looking forward to next year's tour!
3 months agoThat's wonderful to hear and who knows maybe we will meet in Germany or somewhere else one of these years. And good luck with convincing Ken to ride an ebike xx
4 months agoThank you for that Alison. We do love cycle touring even though we now have to keep on fairly easy routes. I firmly believe it is the easiest way for old people to travel. Next year we are planning a trip in Germany. I am trying to persuade Ken that he is old enough to ride an e bike
4 months agoCongratulations on completing another tour. As we are getting older we are finding people telling us we are an inspiration but we always tell them about you guys, 10 years older and definitely you Trish were the person that inspired me to give cycle touring a go when I was 62. And like you both we are addicted to cycling holidays. XX
4 months agoI saw something similar in central Melbourne and the rider told me that she it whenever she needs one.
5 months agoThank you Have been following your trip I agree with you that Alsace is lovely and like the Mosel lots of old tractors ! Our route through France this year had none all packed waiting for the taxi to the airport
5 months agoGlad you had such a good ride. It was fun as usual to follow along.
I posted a couple of old tractors that Ken might like to take a look at. I was at a historical Ecomusée d’Alsace. It’s on my French Pootle journal, in the entry To Issenheim. Photos are about the middle of the entry.
Safe travels home!
Thank you Carolyn it has been a great ride with few dramas ( water excluded). I could never do it without Ken who is always ready with a crutch when we stop. I think we can do it again on a suitable route
5 months agoYou’ve done Rudolph proud. Now it’s keeping up with Tricia & Ken. Fantastic you set out and achieved your goal. An amazing inspiration. Thanks for taking us along with you and hope you have a good trip home!

Yes and I have found a great place in Frankfurt that will hire us everything ( pannier helmets etc too) 1350E per person for 6 weeks. That is for e-bikes -cheaper of course if Ken rides a regular bike ( I personally think at 88 he is old enough to ride an e-bike he doesnt). I can devise a really good loop ride staring and ending in Frankfurt that will take that time
3 months agoI bet you are thinking about your next trip though yours is more complicated as you have to factor in park runs
