It’s an app called Peakfinder. Well worth the few dollars, though I don’t know if there’s an Android version.

2 years agoIt is. That’s the Mercury statue as in the previous photo. The structure is called the Grotto Gallery.

2 years agoI think we only saw it because the trail from the town was closed. We had detoured on major roads to this point. If you were riding on the trail that passes under it, paying attention to the bad surface, you probably wouldn't notice.
2 years agoThat's what happens when you copy someone's route and load the unedited version. I had the edited version but my to-be-replaced Garmin was up to its antics, zooming in and out on its own. Al was leading and he had the original version.

I’ve been wondering how the cold would be for you two. You’re about three weeks later than our ride though there and it was already getting cold then.
2 years agoIs the loop ride you’re considering down to Zahara and back up through Palomas pass? I hope you can do it - it’s really a stunning climb - but you know of course that Palomas is another thousand feet up.
