I guess I didn’t word that very well. We were pretty high and came down a long way to Villanueva. When I zoom in, I see what might be a road about a third of the way down the brownish part.
2 years agoDo you mean way at the top of that massive formation? I don’t think you were up there. That’s El Torcal, so that road would probably be the dead ended spur to the top, MA-9016.
2 years agoHey Jacquie, we are watching your return to Canada with the same intense interest as we watched your foray into Spain! We are wondering when we hit Vancouver if they will let us overnight and then get on a ferry as we cycle home to Victoria, to "quarantine" until their test result comes back. We assume you will have a vaguely similar situation. Let us know how it comes out!
2 years agoCongratulations on a successful tour! Safe trip home.
2 years agoGreat photo! I love the rainbow.
2 years agoThis was our walk in town. But yes, I’ve been walking when we’ve encountered slopes like this!
2 years agoInvigorating! Looks to be over 30%, hope you were walking and not riding this!
2 years agoNice! Not often we get to see a good photo of colorful geologic formations.
2 years agoWe did. It was worth the busy road, though we had our doubts while we were on it (the busy road).
2 years agoOnce you got off the busy road, it looks like you had a great ride!
2 years agoGreat job making to the top! You guys are tough.
2 years agoBeautiful shot!
2 years agoSo do I! Of course, committing to (and then paying for) a full custom bike kinda ensures that. When you’re my size, custom is unfortunately often the only way to get what you want.
2 years agoBTW. I love your bike!

I just checked. We descended about 500 m to Villanueva in 11 km. Had we gone to the top, it would have been about 250 metres more elevation and about 3 km further.
