Hurrah for the bike repair being done quickly. Now.....on with the real ride.

Well, foop then. It reminds us of the year when the airlines lost our bikes for three days and we anxiously sat around Innsbruck for the first 3 days of a short 3 week tour. While we waited, we enjoyed one of the best hiking experiences we’ve had in Europe.

At least it’s not raining? And there are a few rides straight north of Málaga that look really attractive that we’ve never ridden. I’ll look forward to seeing what you find.

I did ask, or try to. But the mechanic wasn't sure what length of wire would be needed. When I was renting the bike, I learned that that particular shop was the only one in town that had the necessary part and would be the best at installing it.

It seems it’s just like home; all bike shops are super busy. Replacing this wire requires some special tools and it’s best if done by someone with experience.

Bike2Malaga is open every day because their core business is rental and bike tours. They do minor repairs but sent me elsewhere for the Di2 wire.

Not sure which map view you’re looking at. There are lots of separated bike paths in the city of Malaga. In addition, the right lane on some arterial roads is marked with a 30 km/h speed limit and “priority to bicycles.”

Sorry for the obvious question, but maybe it didn’t occur to you. Can you just buy the cable from them and take it elsewhere to get it installed?

Are the green lines on the map when zoomed in bikeways? Where is the map sourced from? Hope your bike repair happens sooner than later.

We did a lot of walking around this area when we were there because it was raining. I really loved it!

Okay, sitting here on pins and needles wanting to hear about your bike repair. Good luck tomorrow!

I wondered about the danger of this when I got the bike. I plan to look into getting a Shimano plug tool so I can unplug the wire when I pack my bike. Plus a spare wire (though I think it’s not something I’d replace myself).
