Sometimes I wonder about RWGPS…
3 years agoHuh. I found our route and added it to the journal. It shows us chopping off that horseshoe by cutting across what looks like a dry wash and through some houses. I’m suspicious though. I think if we’d really done that it would have made it into the journal. The route was the planned one, not the actual so I suspect we did as you did.
3 years agoHmm. You’re right. I probably just put in a few points and let RWGPS join them. That would explain a few things!

3 years agoI’m sorry to hear Don Miguel is closed, but it looks like you found a great place. I’m puzzled by your comment about our track though, because the map is missing from our post for that day. Where did you find it?
3 years agoOh good, it’s not just us!
3 years agoHi Lyle
I bring my E-M1ii because it’s what I have. A smaller but still weatherproof body would be better. For lenses, I bring my 14-150ii (used for this shot which is very cropped), plus 17mm f1.8 for low light. This time I also have my 9-18 but haven’t used it yet.
We can relate to the ‘hot tub’ incident. Back when we were living in Aberdeen, we did as a lot of Scot’s do and decamped to Spain in late October for a last hit of sun and warm(ish) weather. The villa we rented near Alicante had a nice pool , which the kids promptly jumped into, and then straight out. Wet suits were procured for the remainder of our stay (used them for swims and snorkelling in the sea too). Classic Canadian assumption that all pools are heated 😶🌫️
3 years agoEcho Scott’s comment … using your OMD E-M5? If so, what lens? I’ve got the same camera and always struggle with which lenses to bring on tour. Pictures like this make dragging along a suite of lenses worthwhile though (don’t crush me by saying it’s just the stock pancake lens 🙄)
3 years agoThanks!
3 years agoIt's rather like BC before the BC Vaccine Card. Masks are required indoors and hand sanitizer is everywhere. We haven't been asked to provide proof of vaccination anywhere.
3 years agoI writing this from La Mamola, after quite a few more km on the road. Traffic hasn't been a problem. It's light, the speed limit is low, there are decent shoulders (except, for example, when there are two lanes uphill), and the drivers are courteous. Not always super pleasant but it never felt unsafe.
3 years agoHe wasn't in very long! But he did get all the way into the water, which I certainly didn't!
3 years agoThe shot is beautiful!

Bizarre is the word, alright. What a surreal place to bicycle.
