Ah, yes, beware the duplicate platform numbers at Italian train stations. Rome is the same. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/sardocorse/rome-to-molfetta/
I'm glad you made your train!
We seem to attract trail angels in railway stations also. Once we even had some strong young men dead lift our heavy loaded ebikes and almost run down 2 flights of stairs with them while we struggled along behind them. Glad you had your angel there for you.

1 day agoEvery tour needs a few of these
1 day agoNot surprised. Thanks!
1 day agoWe probably should have and we’ve still got time. To clarify though, I never consumed the Lambrusco in the UK. We were ‘mature’ late 20’s - early 30’s expats working there. The fizz was the cheap party booze for the ‘young kids’.
1 day agoI really like this city. It’s a great base for hiking up into the hills to the west also. I’d be happy to land here for a longer stay some spring or autumn.
1 day agoI thought you might keep the tradition. Why are you up so early????
1 day agoThat was Alison!
1 day agoDon't you have an alarm set?

1 day agoYou really should give the Lambrusco a try while in northern Italy. What you've had is nothing like what you'll find in Italy. Pairs well with salumi, tomato sauced pasta and pizza, sausages, it's quite refreshing.
2 days agoAbout 20. Marble was being quarried there from the time of the Romans.
2 days agoWell aren't those routes fun! Reminds me of a "bicycle route" leaving Cremona. Not much more than a kilometer, but it continually degraded and the exit was through a dairy farm.
