Great photo. Good to see that my frst recumbent, purchased from John Sclitter’s bike shop in Hays, KS., is being ridden and enjoyed almost a decade later. Good goin, Oren, you are a good caretaker.

I’m hurting for you. That looks painful!
2 years agoThat’s worth getting up early to see!

2 years agoNot this winter. We’re going south, but we’ve only got six weeks - not really enough for us to want to drive over there and back. We’re thinking we’ll spend most of it hopping around California this year.
2 years agoI had a friend ask me about frame damage. Eeegads! There was nothing, to my untrained eye.
Is Tucson in your winter plans?
We did discuss early in the trip that we should start carrying a night light. But we never bought one.
In Tucson, the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs. I slipped going downstairs (broad daylight), and hyperextended my big toe. It was very painful for months, and I can feel it even now as I walk distances.
Thanks for the sympathy. The concerns are real!
You sure are tough! You make me tired just reading your posts!
2 years agoGreat photo!
2 years agoI’m so sorry about your accident! I’ve become obsessive about making sure I have a clear path to the bathroom and how to get there. We stay in so many different places and in the middle of the night I don’t know where I am.
2 years agoWhat a freak accident! I’m so sorry. Lucky that it happened so close to the end.
2 years agoIt's nothing compared to your whole tooth problem, but I could feel my knee hurting during the day today. I think the wheel that my knee ended up in is also hurting . . . tonight we have a suite, and the bike is in the kitchen. Safe from night time trips to the bathroom!

2 years agoYes, same place! The washer on the porch is the give away.

Kelly,
2 years agothanks for hanging in there and closing out your journal properly. I’ve enjoyed every day of “my” ride thru the passes of Colorado and the canyons of Utah! Whatever shall I do ? Your tour is over and the Tour of France is as well. Think I’ll go ride my trike.
