What a beautiful road!
1 year agoThat looks delicious!
1 year agoThat seems natural enough, given that the mud used probably comes from the adjacent hills.
It reminds me of Mesa Verde in reverse: instead of being tucked in beneath overhanging cliffs they're perched in exposed positions atop the hills.
"... a mosque and a school, which invariably are the two best maintained buildings in the village"
which shows how those institutions are valued by the community.
Great pictures! I was hoping riding with a group wouldn't restrict your picture taking.
1 year agoYou didn't manage to convert him to Cycleblaze journaling?

1 year agoMold: ugh. At least you're not there to breathe it at the moment. On the other hand I'm guessing that it'll still be there waiting for you on your return. I hope not but don't have much faith in commercial landlords and property managers. Fingers crossed!
VZW "We never lock our phones". Utter BS. I think you have to either supply an unlocked phone or pay a hefty and possibly ongoing price to have your VZW-supplied phone unlocked.
My wife was similarly assured that she could install and use a French SIM in her VZW phone and found out only after buying and trying one that she had been misinformed or lied to. She was furious, and changed carriers shortly after we returned to the States.
It’s been more than 30 years since I was in Morocco and so far it seems like it hasn’t changed all that much. Modern, of course, but the souks and the square and the people and oh my the art, all timeless. This was a wonderful tour of the city, Susan. I’m absolutely certain I had mint tea one night on the roof of your lunch stop (ahem).
1 year agoI warned you to be wary of things like this, didn’t I? Remember why happened to Deborah Winger in The Sheltering Sky!
1 year agoGreat photo! I love it when you get the stain class reflections.
1 year agoNow there’s an offer you don’t get every day
