My impression is that this is a years-long project that may not ever reach the water. I don't see any recent updates on the website.

Yep, dirt roads, especially dirt roads along a river can change a whole lot in 5 years. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Last stretch of the West. You will definitely be in the East from here on out.
