Birds are so stingy!
2 years agoThat osprey doesn't appear ready to share... :-)
The (maybe albatross) looks intent on getting a bit anyway.
Everytime I see the tacos, I want one!
2 years agoHa ha, thanks! It’s coming, I promise. Set this blog up late so have not completed the “about me” page yet. I’ll say this, I have been passionate about bike touring since I was 18 years old and have done trips all over the world. (Glory) my comrade, is really a little bear. If you want to know more, I have some blogs on CGOAB that probably tells you more than you ever want to know, including an about me page 😉
2 years agoThanks Bill. Now I know and I’ve seen these a lot. Reminds me of the flowers in Yellowstone.

Hey Patrick,
I actually had this problem once before and needed the gritty grease to stop it. I watched you tube videos yesterday so took everything apart last night and thoroughly cleaned it and greased the screw for the clamp. I wiped all the grease off the seat post at this point, but there's hopefully a little bit down in the frame still. I had tried rubbing dirt/sand on the seat post and maybe some was in the clamp area keeping it from a full grip. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I leave. It's definitely better than it was that first day...
No separate clamp and none of this was a problem until I greased the seat post when I had taken it apart to try and fix the rivet issue. Maybe I should go for a ride today and see how it does because I'm heading into a whole lot of nothing again....
Kim, the seatpost is supposed to have a little grease on it to prevent the aluminum seatpost from welding itself to the bike frame. (Is a problem with steel frames, not so much an issue with aluminum bikes). If the seatpost slips it is an issue with the clamp. Do you have a separate clamp (quick release), or is it part of the bike frame? Happy travels!
Patrick
Hahaha! I'm so excited for you to be sharing this amazing journey 💗
2 years agogf, you are out of control! lol
2 years agoThanks Cinda. Better late than never!
2 years agoIf you consistently cycle, the seat becomes your friend. You just need to break your butt in!
2 years agoWow!!! My ass is sore just reading this hahaha, I'm a long distance walker...as bicycle seats are not my friends 😅

Kim - I’m so glad you got to experience that! We had a chance a few years ago to do a similar thing in San Ignacio (further south) and I still remember it like it was yesterday. You described the experience perfectly. The whales obviously know what’s happening and the interaction with them is something you’ll never forget. Thanks for brining tears of sweet memories to my eyes!
