Jen Rahn commented on In Tucson: hiking in Saguaro National Park, East

The SOTU may have been excessive punishment for the helmet foible.

If you still feel guilty, make a donation to the desert museum or something. No need to torture yourself!

A work of art!

I know, I know. Self-flagellation. I’m still punishing myself for throwing my broken helmet out into the desert.

Wow. Thanks so much, Bill! I’m so glad you follow along. I’ve learned so much from you.

Saguaro is a close second to the Grand Canyon in my favorite places, followed by the Superstitions.

You need to look for tiny cactus species! Even though little hedgehogs and tinier fish hook cacti are not blooming now, they are still neat!

I think your biggest garage mistake was listening to the SOTU.

It’s another cold day today. So we’re going to go over to check out the west unit rather than bike.

West is great too, but I like East better.

Isn’t that something? Also, I was surprised since then to discover he has a pair of old journals on CGOAB.

Great story about John Poole! A guy who goes out with 2 kids on his bike is definitely worth storage space in the archives.

I'd say keep that story for the next 40 years, with the bonus 'random AZ encounter' addendum.

He'd better brush up on his geography basics if he intends to impress the Burmese bottle opener on their upcoming date!

Oh, funny! You’re right, they did cross the road. You can just make out that it’s the same direction from the mountains and shadows. Too much excitement!

Well, unless you are looking backwards, the telephone poles did cross the road!
